Law and order and unemployment are big issues in Maharashtra… said Prithviraj Chavan after the Congress manifesto meeting
Assembly elections are going to be held in Maharashtra this year. All the parties have geared up for this. On Saturday, Congress held a meeting regarding its manifesto. In this meeting which lasted for about two hours, all the leaders discussed many important issues. Former Chief Minister and Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan, who was a part of the meeting, told what kind of strategy the party is making regarding its manifesto. Along with this, he has also raised many questions on the breaking of Chhatrapati Shivaji's statue.
At the meeting held on the Congress manifesto, he said that a draft would be prepared on behalf of the Congress party regarding the manifesto. After this, discussions will be held with the leaders of the Uddhav Thackeray faction and the Sharad Pawar faction. After that, the final manifesto of MVA will be prepared. Along with this, he said that the next manifesto committee meeting will be held in Pune and then in Nagpur.
The Prime Minister visited Maharashtra on Friday. During this time he apologized to the public. When Shivaji's statue fell, he said I apologize with my head bowed. After this statement of the PM, there was a political stir in Maharashtra politics. The opposition is also taking a dig at this. Congress is protesting against this. After the statue was broken, Congress leaders have also talked about doing a shoe-hitting movement.
Regarding this, leader Prithviraj Chavan said that the police have not yet given permission for Sunday's protest, but we will protest. However, along with this, he said that what would be the strategy of the protest. The main leaders of the three parties will decide on this. MVA leaders have announced a shoe-hitting movement against the Mahayuti on September 1 against the breaking of the effigy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Malvan in Sindhudurg.
Apologizing is not the solution
The Congress leader said that the Mumbai Congress protested against the Prime Minister and asked him to apologize, to which the PM apologized. Apologizing is a good thing but the problem will not be solved by just apologizing, accountability should be fixed, until accountability is fixed, our protest will continue. Along with this, he said that he wants strict action to be taken against those involved in the scam and irregularities in this effigy. There has been a big scam in this, there should be an impartial investigation of it.
Savarkar is not an issue in this election
He also reacted to the Prime Minister's statement on Veer Savarkar and said that by raising the issue of Veer Savarkar, Prime Minister Modi is deviating from the issue, the issue right now is not Savarkar. This fight in Maharashtra is about ideology, the assembly elections to be held here have now been postponed, but we are prepared to take our issues to the people. And tell them that the government is only working to mislead the people.
Devendra Fadnavis was also attacked
The Congress leader also attacked Devendra Fadnavis fiercely. He said that ever since Devendra Fadnavis became the Chief Minister in 2014, Maharashtra has gone backward. Law and order and unemployment are big issues in the state. This has also been discussed in the manifesto. The financial condition of Maharashtra has deteriorated a lot, which is a matter of great concern.
