Kerala Ragging Horror: Dumbbells hung from private parts, body torn; this is how the horrific ragging case was exposed

Kerala Ragging Horror: Junior students were brutally ragged in a government nursing college in the Kottayam district of Kerala. Five students have been arrested in this case after a complaint was lodged with the police.
The matter came to light after the victims of ragging complained to the police. The police have arrested five third-year students studying at the Government College of Nursing. They have been identified as Samuel Johnson, NS Jeeva, KP Rahul Raj, C Rijil Jith and Vivek NP.
According to information received from the police, this group of five senior students was harassing first-year students in the name of ragging since November 2024. When the matter went out of hand, three victim students complained to the nearby Gandhinagar police station.
Senior students used to cut the bodies of juniors and apply lotion to them
Police said that the accused used to make cuts on the bodies of the juniors. They used to apply lotion on those cuts. When the victims screamed in pain, the accused used to apply cream on their mouths and body parts as well.
Students were made naked and dumbbells were hung from their private parts
The complaint also states that the students were stripped naked and dumbbells were hung from their private parts. The accused also injured them with stationery equipment including compasses. The college has suspended the five students accused in the case. The college principal has taken this action after an investigation as per the Anti-Ragging Act.
The principal-in-charge, Dr. Lini Joseph, said that the students had not informed the college about ragging. Their family members informed the class teacher about it by calling them. After receiving the complaint, investigation and action were taken. We have suspended the students. The complaint has been forwarded to the Gandhinagar SHO (Station House Officer) and Kottayam Superintendent of Police. The police have questioned the victim students and the accused.
