The Israel Defense Forces have released drone footage of the "final moments" of Hamas chief Yahya Shinwar. The video shows Sinwar sitting on a couch surrounded by debris inside a damaged and dilapidated house. In his final moments, he is seen throwing an object at the drone.

Here is the raw footage:

Israel killed Sinwar, 62, in a Gaza operation on Thursday. In a social media post, the IDF wrote: "Ended: Yahya Sinwar."

"Yahya Shinwar, the mass murderer responsible for the massacres and atrocities of October 7, was killed by IDF (Israeli Army) soldiers," Foreign Minister Israel Katz said in a statement.

Later, the IDF issued its spokesman RAdm. Released a video message by Daniel Hagary, discussing the assassination of Sinwar and Israel's operational goals in Gaza.

He said, "Sinwar was responsible for the most brutal attack against Israel in our history. When terrorists from Gaza attacked Israel, they massacred I+sraelis in their homes, raped our women, burned whole families alive. and held more than 250 men, women, children and infants hostage in Gaza. 101 hostages are still being held in brutal conditions for the past year."

Mr. Hagari said Sinwar tried to evade justice but failed, but the Israeli army did. Read | As Israeli forces tracked down and killed Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar in Gaza, accusing him of waging war with Israel by hiding behind civilians in Gaza, Mr. Hagari reiterated, "Our war is with Hamas, the people of Gaza." Not with you and we understand the meaning of it."

He said - "We are working to increase the amount of humanitarian aid, including food, water, and medicine, going to Gaza, the people of Gaza who are suffering because of Yahya Sinwar." Condolences to the families of those killed or abducted due to Sinwar.

"We bow our heads and remember how brave soldiers made the supreme sacrifice to protect the people of Israel," he said.

The IDF is committed to "not resting" until they "by any means" bring home all the hostages.

"We will continue to work in defense of the people of Israel until all our missions are accomplished," he signed.

"Although this is not the end of the war in Gaza, it is the beginning of the end," said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who vowed to crush Hamas at the beginning of the war. He previously called Sinwar's death "an important milestone in the downfall of the evil regime of Hamas."
