On Tuesday night in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, two army officers and their two female friends had a tough time. Some miscreants attacked them. After that, an army officer was held hostage at gunpoint. The female friend who was with him was dragged to the jungle. There the woman was gang-raped. At the same time, the other army officer was told - Go and bring 10 lakhs first, only then we will release your hostage friend. The army officer somehow evaded those people and informed his seniors about this. Immediately a police team was sent there. But by then it was too late. The accused had fled from there. However, the police have taken two suspects into custody.

According to the information, the incident took place near the historic Jam Gate, 50 km from Indore. Additional SP Dwivedi said - Six suspects have been identified, out of which two have been detained from the forest. Both the army officers have been injured in the mob attack. The female friend of the officers who was gang-raped is undergoing treatment in the hospital. The woman has been given a medical check-up.

SP (rural) Hitika Vasal said that both the army personnel are doing the Young Officers Course in the Infantry School of Mhow. A lieutenant who was attacked has lodged a case with the police. According to the lieutenant- We four had reached Ahilya Gate near Jam Gate on Mhow-Mandleshwar Road on Tuesday night. At around 2.30 in the night, my friend was in the car with his girlfriend when 6-7 people attacked them. I was on a nearby hill with my girlfriend at that time and came down after hearing the screams.

The complaint further said- The attackers beat up my friend sitting in the car badly and held him hostage. They took his friend towards the forest. When I came down, they beat me and my friend too. They told me to go and bring a ransom of Rs 10 lakh. Only then will your friend be released. On this pretext, I called my senior officers and informed them about the incident. They immediately alerted the police.

Gang rape confirmed

The SP said that a large police force was sent to the spot, but by then the attackers had fled into the forest. All four of them were brought to Mhow Civil Hospital at 6.30 am, where a medical examination confirmed that one of the women was gang-raped.
