Nagpur. A sensational incident has come to light in Nagpur city of Maharashtra, where a dismissed policeman killed his married girlfriend and buried the body behind a building under construction. The accused Naresh alias Narendra Pandurang Dahule (40) has been arrested from Chandrapur district. Police have charged the accused with murder and destruction of evidence.

The accused earlier worked in the police force but was dismissed from service, police said on Tuesday without giving further details. Naresh was in a relationship with a 40-year-old married woman, a resident of Chimur in Chandrapur district. The woman also had a son. Dahule and the woman, who were classmates during their school days, rekindled their relationship through Facebook in August, police said. They soon got into a romantic relationship and decided to elope leaving their home and family. However, while trying to execute their plan on November 26, the couple had a dispute over their future.

The accused roamed around with the dead body in the stolen car for hours

In a fit of rage, Dahule strangled his girlfriend to death, police said. To hide his crime, the man drove around with the body in a stolen car for hours and then buried it in a septic tank behind an under-construction building in Vela Hari area under Beltarodi police station limits, they said.

During the investigation, which included a thorough examination of phone records and forensic evidence, Dahule confessed to killing the woman and led the police to the spot where he had dumped the body, police said.
