In Nagaur, a retired teacher gave a dowry of 2 crores to his nephew, reached his sister's house with a convoy of 250 cars

Nagaur: Once again, the marriage in Nagaur is in the news not only in the state but also in the whole country due to the custom of paying dowry in Rajasthan. Here, an uncle paid a dowry of Rs 2 crore in his nephew's wedding. In which he gave 1.1 crore cash, 25 tola gold, and a plot worth 35 lakhs.

Nagaur Mayra Ritual:  The tradition of giving Mayra has been going on for many years in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan. In every wedding season, one can see many Mayras (Bhat) in the district. In this, the maternal uncle of the girl of the house where the wedding is taking place tries to give as much Mayra as possible for his nephew so that his sister or daughter does not face any shortage in the wedding. Following this tradition, there is a competition to give Mayra even today in Nagaur. One such Mayra of Rs 2 crore was given in Malgaon of Nagaur district. It was given at the house of Santosh Devi of the district.

Uncle paid a dowry of 2 crores for nephew's wedding

Actually, retired teacher Ramnarayan Jharwal, who lives in Burdi town of the district, has paid more than two crore rupees in dowry for his nephew's wedding. Ramnarayan, who lives in the town located in Deh tehsil, has two sons. One son is a doctor and the other is a big businessman abroad. Before the wedding, a dowry of more than two crore rupees was paid. A huge crowd gathered to see it.

Gave the Mayara (dowry)with an open heart for his sister

In this dowry, 140 silver coins were given to all the family members of the sister's in-laws. Clothes were also given to the daughters of the village. Dr. Ashok Jharwal himself is a doctor in a government hospital. One of his brothers is a nursing officer in Australia. When the girl's maternal grandfather Ramnarayan Jharwal spoke of paying the dowry of his granddaughter wholeheartedly, the family decided to make this moment memorable for the sister.

Gave things including 140 silver coins and a plot worth Rs 35 lakh

The family members said that apart from all this, they also gifted a trolley full of millet and a tractor to the brother-in-law during the ritual of 'Mayre'. The dowry included one crore and one lakh rupees in cash, a plot worth about 35 lakhs in Nagaur, 25 tola gold and 5 kg silver jewellery, a trolley full of paddy in a new tractor, clothes for every sister and daughter of the village and 140 silver coins for the family members.

One son is a doctor and the other is abroad

Ramnarayan's younger son Ashok Jarwal is a physician in the jail hospital in Nagaur, while the elder son Ram Kishore lives in Australia. A convoy of about 250 cars including friends and relatives reached Maniram Dhaka's house in Dhakon ki Dhani in Malgaon for the ritual of Mayra.
