Imagine you order food from a famous brand from Swiggy. You are comfortably enjoying the food while watching TV, and then suddenly you get a strange taste with the bite. When you look closely, you find out that there was a worm in your food. You will feel very bad, right? You will feel even worse when Swiggy, the food delivery person, tells you that they have refunded the money for the spoiled food. End of story. Her post went viral in no time and has raised serious questions on the food safety of trusted brands.
Chaynika told that she had ordered a rice bowl from a famous cloud kitchen named "The Good Bowl". While she was watching TV while eating, she saw some rice black in colour. At first she did not pay attention, but as soon as she felt a strange taste, she immediately spat out the food and what she saw blew her senses. It was a half-eaten worm. Shocked, when she looked at the whole bowl carefully, she found more worms in it.
Swiggy's cold response
Chaynika said that she has been a regular customer of The Good Bowl, but after this incident, her trust was completely broken. When she complained about this to Swiggy, the reply came - "Refunded!" Angry Chaynika tagged Swiggy and The Good Bowl and wrote, "Thank you @swiggyindia and @thegoodbowlindia, when I ordered a rice bowl, you fed me insects! Doesn't the health and hygiene of customers matter to you? And Swiggy's reply was just - 'We refunded.' Is this a joke?" When Chaynika contacted the Instagram handle of Good Bowl, they just asked for her number and then did not give any reply.
Companies gave clarification
Swiggy responded to this matter and wrote, "Hi Chaynika, this should not have happened. Please DM us the details of the order so that we can pass it on to the team." At the same time, The Good Bowl said, "We are very sorry that you had to go through this experience. We are investigating this matter and will find a solution soon."
Anger erupted on social media
Instagram users trolled Good Bowl and Swiggy a lot on this issue. One user wrote, "What nonsense is this! No more eating outside!" Another user wrote, "Good Bowl? Now it should be called 'Bad Bowl'!" Another user even accused Swiggy and these cloud kitchens of playing with the health of customers. They should be banned immediately.
