President Draupadi Murmu has expressed strong displeasure over the Kolkata rape and murder case. She said that after the Nirbhaya incident, it seems that we have collective amnesia. Regarding the crimes against women, the President said that enough is enough. Draupadi Murmu said that the incident was very painful and horrifying. Talking to PTI, President Murmu said that the rape and brutal murder of the doctor in Kolkata is a result of frustration and it is very frightening. I am disappointed and scared.

President Murmu said that no civilized society can allow such atrocities on daughters and sisters. She also commented that even when students, doctors, and citizens were protesting in Kolkata, the criminals were hiding somewhere. This comment of the President is a strong attack on the governance of the West Bengal government.

President Draupadi Murmu used strong words on the increasing crime against women in the society and said that now the society needs honest and fair introspection. She said that now the time has come for the society to ask some tough questions to itself.

Unfortunately, nothing has changed even after the Nirbhaya incident

During this time, President Draupadi Murmu also mentioned the Nirbhaya incident and regretted that after 12 years, countless rape incidents are being seen in the society. This is very shocking. She said that such criminals with a reprehensible mindset often see women as less human, less powerful, less capable, and less intelligent. This is an insult to women. It seems that the society has forgotten that crime. This collective amnesia is very condemnable.
