Moscow: After Russia announced a cancer vaccine, cancer patients around the world have started to hope. Cancer treatment is expensive and many people die due to lack of vaccine. In this regard, Andrei Kaprin, Director of the Radiology Medical Research Center of the Russian Ministry of Health, said that this cancer vaccine of Russia will be made separately for different patients. However, it will be available for free to all citizens of Russia. Due to this feature, the price of this vaccine will be around Rs 2.5 lakh.
However, Kaprin did not provide any information about when the rest of the world will get this vaccine. Cancer vaccine will be launched in 2025 According to the Russian Health Ministry, it has developed a vaccine against cancer which will be administered free of cost to cancer patients in Russia in early 2025. According to Russian news agency TASS, Andrey Kaprin, General Director of the Radiology Medical Research Center of the Russian Health Ministry, gave information about this vaccine on the Russian radio channel.
Kaprin said that this vaccine has proved effective in preclinical trials. It has slowed down tumour growth and reduced it by up to 80 percent. Also, this vaccine is designed through a special program based on the data of the patients' tumour cells. The effect of the vaccine will be seen in 48 hours. Meanwhile, Veronika Svortskova, head of Russia's Federal Medical Biological Agency, explained the working method of the vaccine through melanoma (skin cancer).
He said that first a sample of cancer cells is taken from the cancer patient. After this, scientists sequence the genes of the tumour. After this, the protein made in the cancer cells is identified. After identifying the protein, a personalized mRNA vaccine is made. The cancer vaccine given to the patient instructs the body to make T cells. These T cells attack the tumour and destroy cancer. After this, the human body starts recognizing the tumour cells, due to which cancer does not return.
In this regard, according to cancer expert Elias Sayur of the US state of Florida, the vaccine made using this technique started showing effect on brain cancer in less than 48 hours. Russia will announce another vaccine According to the website of the National Medical Research Radiological Center of the Russian Ministry of Health, two types of research were being conducted to fight cancer. The first of these is mRNA vaccine and the second is oncolytic virotherapy.
Under this therapy, cancer cells are infected by targeting them with a human virus modified in the laboratory. Due to this, the virus multiplies automatically in the cancer cells. As a result, the result is that the cancer cell gets destroyed. That is, in this therapy, instead of directly destroying the tumour, cancer cells are destroyed by activating immunity. The name of the vaccine being made for this therapy is Enteromix. The research cycle of this vaccine has been completed. It can be announced soon.
