Hooda vs Surjewala-Shailaja in Haryana! Battle for CM post breaks out in Congress before elections
The battle for the CM post started in the Haryana Congress even before the elections. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who is among the biggest contenders for the CM post, is being directly challenged by Kumari Selja. Randeep Surjewala is also in the queue. Here, the Hooda faction is also not lagging. Now such a demand has been made by this faction, on which President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi have to take a decision.
Bhupinder Singh Hooda was considered to be the biggest contender for the post of CM from Congress in Haryana. Three days ago, Kumari Shailja challenged him and proved that Hooda's path would not be easy. Apart from Shailja, Randeep Surjewala has also expressed his desire to contest the assembly elections. This has become a problem for the screening committee of Congress. The leaders of the Hooda faction have demanded that MPs should not be given tickets in the assembly elections. Now Kharge and Rahul Gandhi have to decide on this.
This is an effort by Hooda supporters
Ajay Maken, chairman of the screening committee for ticket distribution in the Haryana Congress, has started meeting important leaders separately. If sources are to be believed, the leaders of the Hooda faction say that MPs should not get assembly tickets. Actually, through this, they want to foil the plans of Shailja and Surjewala to contest the assembly elections. After all, Bhupinder Hooda will contest the elections as an MLA, and his son Deepender Hooda is a Lok Sabha MP. For now, Ajay Maken will take the final decision in this regard after discussing with Kharge and Rahul.
The high command is not in the mood to give the ticket to Surjewala
Sources say that Randeep Surjewala is currently a Rajya Sabha MP and also the General Secretary in charge of Karnataka. In such a situation, the high command is not in the mood to give him a ticket. Congress has 27 MPs in the Rajya Sabha, if the number is less than 25, Kharge will lose the status of Leader of Opposition. At the same time, due to the latest political developments in Karnataka, the high command does not want to free Surjewala. However, in this situation, Surjewala's son Aditya may get the ticket.
shailaja's ticket may intensify factionalism
On the other hand, the high command believes that the decision on the CM will be taken after the elections. In such a situation, giving a ticket to Lok Sabha MP Shailja can intensify factionalism. Anyway, the party is in the mood to convince Shailja with the argument that when Hooda became CM for the first time, he was a Lok Sabha MP and not an MLA. At present, Ajay Maken has heard everyone's arguments on this issue and after discussing it with the high command, he will convey his decision to the leaders.
