Heavy rains wreak havoc in Andhra Pradesh, 7 people died in Guntur and Vijayawada

Rain havoc continues in Andhra Pradesh. A total of seven people have died in Guntur and Vijayawada due to rain and landslides. 4 people died due to landslides in Mogalipuram of Vijayawada, while three people died in Guntur. Landslides occurred and roads were submerged due to rain in various parts of Andhra Pradesh, especially Guntur and Vijayawada. Life has been badly affected by this.

Due to the landslide caused by heavy rains in the city, rocks fell on many houses, causing the tragic death of many people. The deceased in the landslide has been identified as Meghna, Annapurna, Bolem Lakshmi, and Lalu.

Due to rain, the Vijayawada bus stand has been submerged. Due to this, many buses at Pandit Nehru bus stand got submerged in rainwater. This has also affected the traffic.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed condolences to the families of the victims and assured government help along with a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased.

Three people were swept away in Guntur waters

Three people died when a car was swept away by flood waters in Uppalapadu village of Guntur district. The deceased include a teacher named Raghavendra and two students Satvik, and Manik.

Reacting to the tragic incident, Minister Nara Lokesh said that the state government will help the victim's families. He said that he was deeply shocked by the news that three people died in this incident. Due to torrential rains, waterlogging has occurred in Guntur. The car was swept away in the strong flow of water. Errabalam teacher Raghavendra Rao, Uppalapadu student Sourish Babu and Manvik died.

The meteorological department issued a warning

On the other hand, the severe depression over west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal has intensified into a storm off north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coast. It is moving northwestwards at a speed of 10 km off north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coast during the last three hours.

It is likely to cross the coast between North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts near Kalingapatnam between Visakhapatnam Gopalpur at midnight on Saturday, moving west-northwestwards. The monsoon trough at mean sea level now extends from the cyclonic center over the northeast adjoining northwest Arabian Sea to Nalia, Malegaon, Brahmapuri, Jagdalpur, Kalingapatnam, west-central, and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal. This is likely to cause heavy rains in the area.
