The results of the Haryana assembly elections are coming out today (8 October). Voting for 90 seats in the state was completed in a single phase on 5 October and the fate of the candidates was captured in EVMs, which are being opened slowly today.
There are some important seats in the battle of Haryana on which all eyes are fixed. These include the Sampla-Kiloi seat, the stronghold of former Congress CM Bhupendra Singh Hooda, Ellenabad seat of JJP President Abhay Singh Chautala, Julana seat of Vinesh Phogat and Ambala Cantt seat, which is considered the stronghold of BJP's Anil Vij. At present, the BJP has maintained the lead in the Haryana elections.
Bhupinder Singh Hooda- Ahead
It would not be wrong to say that Bhupendra Singh Hooda took over the command of the Congress in the Haryana assembly elections. Bhupendra Singh Hooda himself contested from the Garhi Sampla-Kiloi assembly seat. This seat is one of the hot seats of Haryana. Bhupendra Singh Hooda is leading from this seat. Bhupendra Singh Hooda is leading with 14995 votes from the Garhi Sampla-Kiloi assembly seat. At the same time, BJP's Manju is contesting with 3896 votes. Aam Aadmi Party candidate Parveen is far behind.
Bhupendra Singh Hooda has won four consecutive elections from this seat. In the year 2005, Bhupendra Singh Hooda also assumed the CM's chair. After this, he occupied the CM's chair for the second consecutive time in the year 2009. After this, if Congress's 10-year drought of power ends, then it is possible that Bhupendra Singh Hooda may prepare to become CM for the third time.
Vinesh Phogat- Next
Vinesh Phogat, who retired from wrestling and entered the political arena, is also a big face of the Congress party. The party gave Vinesh Phogat a ticket from Julana's seat in the Jind district. Vinesh Phogat's political career is not very old but she is maintaining a strong lead in the political arena. There is a close contest between Vinesh Phogat and BJP's Yogesh Kumar. Sometimes Vinesh Phogat is taking the lead and sometimes Yogesh Kumar is moving ahead. In the eighth round of voting, Vinesh Phogat is leading by 2454 votes.
Abhay Singh Chautala - behind
Indian National Lok Dal party leader Abhay Singh Chautala contested the election from the Ellenabad seat. This seat is considered an important seat in Haryana. Once again the honour of the Chautala family is at stake on this assembly seat. Abhay Singh Chautala has not inherited politics, his father Om Prakash Chautala is the former CM of Haryana. Bharat Singh Beniwal of Congress is giving a tough fight to Abhay Singh Chautala. Bharat Singh Beniwal of Congress is leading with 15323 votes. At the same time, Abhay Singh Chautala is giving a tough fight with 10385 votes.
Dushyant Chautala- Behind
Uchana Kalan, the seat of Jannayak Janata Party chief Dushyant Chautala, is also one of the hot seats. Last time JJP became the kingmaker. In the year 2019, he formed the government with BJP in the state and became the Deputy CM. In the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections, he won from the Uchana Kalan constituency by defeating BJP candidate Prem Lata by a margin of 47,452 votes, then his party got only 10 seats, but in this time's result, Dushyant Chautala is lagging far behind. He is in the sixth position with 2420 votes. At the same time, Brijendra Singh of the INLD party is leading from this seat with 14392 votes.
Anil Vij-Back
Anil Vij is a big face of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Anil Vij has entered the fray from the Ambala Cantt assembly seat of Haryana. BJP has a strong hold on Ambala Cantt's seat. It would not be wrong to call this seat Vij's stronghold. Anil Vij has become MLA from this seat five times, but this time perhaps the public has decided to change. Anil Vij is trailing from this seat. Independent candidate Chitra Sarwara is leading with 3894 votes. At the same time, Anil Vij is in the race with 2951 votes. Vij is counted among the strong leaders of the Haryana BJP. Congress has fielded Piramal Pari against Vij. The trends of the results on this seat started coming out this morning.
