There is a ruckus after the suspicious death of gym trainer Wasim alias Monu in Roorkee, Haridwar. On Thursday, Congress MP Imran Masood, former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat, and many Congress leaders reached the house of the deceased Wasim in Solahpur. Actually, according to police officials, Wasim died by drowning in a pond, while the family members allege that the police killed Wasim by calling him a cow smuggler. At the same time, after meeting the victim's family, the Congress delegation said that they would get justice for Wasim.

If we talk about Waseem alias Monu, he was very fond of the gym. He used to run a gym in his Solapur village of Roorkee and was also the trainer of his gym. Some photos and videos of Waseem's gym have also surfaced, in which he is seen doing body-building. Along with this, Waseem also knew electronic work. He used to repair fridges, washing machines, and lights of houses. He often used to stay out in connection with electronic work.

Waseem alias Monu was the eldest in his family. He has five younger sisters. He was the only breadwinner in the family. His father used to work as a laborer. Waseem had the responsibility of the whole family on his shoulders. After his death, the family members are crying inconsolably. The parents are accusing the police of murder. The parents say that their son was murdered by calling him a cow smuggler, whereas he was only concerned about his work. He used to run his gym, he used to earn some money from electronic work also.

On the night of 24/25 August, in Madhopur village of Roorkee Ganganahar Kotwali area, the team Gau Sanrakshan Squad of the police claimed that while trying to catch a Muslim youth riding a scooter with alleged beef, the youth Waseem alias Monu jumped into the pond and died by drowning. On the other hand, the villagers allege that the team of Gau Sanrakshan Squad of the police beat up Waseem mercilessly after asking his name and later threw him into the pond.

What did the Haridwar police say?

According to the statement issued by Haridwar Police, on Sunday morning, Gau Raksha Dal had reported beef smuggling in the Kotwali Ganganahar area. After receiving the information, they stopped a suspicious scooter rider in Madhopur village. Police claimed that after this the man left the scooter and started running and jumped into a pond in the village, where he died drowning. Police said that the villagers of the area surrounded the police team and alleged that the police beat up the suspicious person and threw him into the pond and did not allow him to come out, due to which he died.

Villagers accused the police of intimidation

The villagers claimed that when they reached the spot, the Gau Sanrakshan Squad team threatened them with guns and asked them to leave the place. The villagers protested and demanded action. It is alleged that the Gau Sanrakshan Squad team has killed the youth. The villagers who went to rescue him were also threatened. In this case, the police have registered a case against hundreds of unidentified people including the named ones on the complaint of the Gau Sanrakshan Squad team's inspector.
