Budaun Bridge Death Case: Recently, three people died when a car fell from the incomplete bridge of Ramganga built to connect Budaun to Faridpur in Uttar Pradesh. It is being told that the youth were going by looking at the location on Google Maps. Their car fell from the bridge and all three youths died on the spot (Budaun Bridge Accident). Three people died in the accident caused by the wrong instructions of Google Maps. According to a report by news agency PTI, the FIR names two assistant engineers and two junior engineers of the PWD as well as unknown persons. The local Google Maps representative is also under investigation and his name has not yet been shown in the FIR. 

Badaun District Magistrate Nidhi Srivastava said, "Apart from taking corrective measures at the site, an FIR has been registered under Section 105 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code against 2 assistant engineers and 2 junior engineers of the PWD and unknown persons."

How Google Maps led young people to an unfinished bridge

Nitin and Ajit, both 30 years old and Amit, 40 years old, were travelling from Noida to attend a wedding in Faridpur, Bareilly. News agency PTI reported, citing the Badaun police in Uttar Pradesh, that Google Maps directed the driver to an incomplete bridge, a portion of which had collapsed due to earlier floods. There were no barriers or warning signs on the bridge. 

The car fell into the Ramganga River from a half-constructed bridge in the Datganj police station area on Sunday morning. The PWD and Setu Nigam have been ordered to inspect all roads and bridges in the area to prevent such incidents.

A Google spokesperson expressed condolences and confirmed cooperation in the investigation. The spokesperson said "Our deepest condolences are with the families. We are working closely with the authorities and providing our cooperation in investigating this issue."

Faridpur Circle Officer Ashutosh Shivam said that a portion of the bridge was destroyed in the floods. He said that the front portion of the bridge had collapsed into the river due to floods earlier this year, but this change was not updated in the system.asvcac
