Good news! Now admission in B.Tech will be done through CUET and 12th merit, AKTU has opened the way

Usually, admissions for B.Tech are taken in engineering colleges on the basis of JEE marks. In Uttar Pradesh's AKTU i.e. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, students were also admitted to B.Tech in the same way, but now the university has made a new change. From the new session 2025-26, AKTU will take admission in B.Tech course not only through Joint Entrance Exam i.e. JEE but also through Combined University Entrance Test i.e. CUET and 12th merit. This change of the university can prove beneficial for those students who get low marks and due to this they are not able to get admission in good colleges.
At present, only candidates with JEE merit are given admission in B.Tech course in Abdul Kalam Technical University on the basis of preference and availability of seats. AKTU's rule says that if seats remain vacant even after this, then colleges can directly admit students on the basis of 12th merit, but now the university will also take admission on the basis of CUET merit. Only those students will get admission in B.Tech on the basis of 12th merit who have passed this exam in Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
The proposal will be sent to the government
According to reports, Abdul Kalam Technical University i.e. AKTU will bring a proposal related to this three-tier admission counseling in the working council on Friday, which, if agreed upon by the members, will be sent to the government for recommendation and after getting approval, this rule will be officially implemented.
Classes will be online in the last semester
The university has recently taken some big decisions in the interest of the students, the first of which is that students pursuing BE-BTech will not need to go to college in the last semester but the classes will be online. Apart from this, the university has also decided that now students studying biology in 12th will also be able to do BCA course.
