In Kerala, a Dalit girl has been raped by everyone from her friend to her coach. Whoever got the chance, raped her. Sometimes in the garden, sometimes in the car. From strangers to acquaintances, no one spared the girl. The girl became a victim of brutality more than 50 times.
A horrific case of rape has come to light in Kerala. A student was raped by everyone from friends to strangers, this series of brutality was going on for the last 5 years. The brutality started when the student was 13 years old and then whoever met her kept on scratching her body. According to the information received so far, 62 people have raped the victim, out of which 27 people have been arrested.
From friend to coach, everyone raped her
The victim is now 18 years old. In her complaint, she has alleged that 62 people have sexually abused her since she was 13. Police said they have found evidence that shows the girl was also sexually abused by her sports coaches, fellow athletes and classmates.
Rape from plantation to hospital
According to the police, investigation has revealed that last year, when the girl was in class 12, a youth who knew her through Instagram took her to a rubber plantation in Ranni and raped her along with three others. Police said that investigation has revealed that she was gang-raped in January 2024 at Pathanamthitta General Hospital.
10 cases registered in the case of harassment of a girl
So far 23 people have been arrested in the case of alleged sexual assault of a Dalit girl in Kerala's Pathanamthitta district, while four other minors have also been apprehended. Based on the statement of the victim, 10 more FIRs have been registered in this case in two police stations of the district. In the seven FIRs registered by the Pathanamthitta police, a total of 17 people have been arrested and four minors have been detained, while the Elavumthitta police have arrested six persons. According to this, the police of both the stations have so far arrested a total of 27 accused in this case.
SIT is investigating
A special investigation team has been formed to investigate the incident comprehensively, which is headed by Pathanamthitta Deputy Superintendent of Police P.S. Nandakumar under the supervision of District Police Chief V.G. Vinod Kumar. The team comprises 25 police officers from various ranks and stations. The District Police Chief will review the progress of the investigation daily. Police said that the investigation so far has revealed that several accused met the girl at a private bus stand in Pathanamthitta. After this, she was taken to different places in vehicles and harassed. Police is also focusing on gathering scientific evidence and examining mobile phones and other items as part of the investigation. The District Police Chief said that a detailed investigation into the case is underway.
