FIR Registered Against JDU MLA Gopal Mandal for Obscene Dance and Song at Holi Function

JDU MLA from Bhagalpur’s Gopalpur constituency, Narendra Kumar Neeraj, alias Gopal Mandal, has landed in trouble after a video of him singing and dancing to an obscene Bhojpuri song went viral. Following widespread criticism, an FIR has been registered against him at Navgachiya police station on the instructions of SP Prerna Kumar.
Viral Video Sparks Outrage
The controversy erupted after Mandal performed an objectionable song during a Holi Milan function on March 10 at Inter-Level High School in Navgachiya. The event, which lasted from 3 PM to 10 PM, saw a large crowd, including many women. The video of his performance quickly spread on social media, triggering backlash against the administration and the government.
MLA Denies Allegations
In response to the FIR, Gopal Mandal has dismissed the accusations as false. Speaking to TV9 Bharatvarsh, he claimed that he did not use any obscene words but that someone from the audience repeated vulgar lyrics while he was holding the microphone.
Previous Controversies
This is not the first time Mandal has made headlines for controversial behavior. Another video from March 9 shows him dancing with a female performer at a Holi event in Gopal Gaushala and placing a ₹500 note on her cheek. The clip further fueled criticism of his conduct.
