Faridabad: Father was sleeping in the bedroom at night, son secretly came inside and set it on fire… then started watching the spectacle of death from outside

A heartbreaking news has come from Faridabad in Haryana. Here in Ajay Nagar, a teenager, angry at his father for interrupting his for studies and scolding him for stealing money, crossed all limits of brutality and killed his father by burning him alive. The deceased was Mohammad Aleem (55), who was originally from Mirzapur. He had been living in a rented house in Ajay Nagar with his 14-year-old son for the last four months.

Along with collecting donations for religious places, Alim used to sell mosquito nets and other items. On Monday night, Alim scolded his son for not studying and he got angry. It is alleged that at around 2 am, when Alim was in deep sleep, his son sprinkled an inflammable substance on him and set him on fire. After this, he locked the room from outside and stood outside waiting for his father to die.

Alim died of burn injuries within a short time of the fire. After about ten minutes of struggle, when the neighbors reached the spot to rescue him, the teenager ran away after seeing them. However, now the police have taken him into custody and are engaged in an investigation.

The landlord lodged an FIR.

Police said- On the complaint of landlord Riyazuddin, a case has been registered against the teenage son of deceased Mohammad Aleem in various sections including murder in Palla police station. Landlord Riyazuddin told the police in his complaint that the deceased Mohammad Aleem used to live with his son in a room on the roof of his house, while he lives with his family on the ground floor.

On Monday night, all the family members were sleeping after dinner. At around 2 am, they suddenly heard Alim's voice screaming from the terrace. This woke them up. When they went to the terrace, they found the staircase door locked from outside. After this, with the help of neighbor Ama Ullah alias Aman, they reached their terrace from another house. There also they saw that the latch of the room's door was on the outside and Alim was screaming loudly inside. As soon as they opened the latch of the room, they saw that the whole room was on fire and Alim was surrounded by flames.

Information given to the police

After this, the police and fire department were immediately informed about the matter. Before the fire brigade arrived, the police controlled the fire with the help of local people. However, by then Mohammad Aleem had died on the spot. The police took the body into custody and sent it to BK Hospital for postmortem. The police have taken the deceased's teenage son into custody and are interrogating him.

The in-charge of Naveen Nagar police station said that the accused juvenile will be presented before the Juvenile Justice Board. After this, he can be sent to a juvenile correction home. Neighbours said that the juvenile is a vagabond. He did not go to school. He also used to steal money from his father's pocket. He did the same on Monday night. In such a situation, his father scolded him and beat him. Both father and son went to sleep after having dinner at around 10 pm. At around 2 am, when father Alim was in deep sleep, it is alleged that the juvenile poured flammable substance on him and set him on fire.

He ran away as soon as he saw the neighbors

Landlord Riyazuddin said that Mohammad Aleem's minor son used to fight in the street. He would often ask him to study. Aleem used to spend most of his time in religious activities. He also used to sell mosquito nets etc. in the weekly market.

Aleem booked for murdering his wife

According to information, in 2012, Mohammad Aleem lived with his family in Govindpuri, Delhi. According to official sources, in 2012, his wife was heating water in Govindpuri. During a quarrel, hot water fell on his wife and she suffered 60 percent burns. She died in Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital. Police had registered a murder case against Mohammad Aleem. However, it is not clear whether Aleem was convicted in that case or the case is still pending. Aleem has five children. Three daughters and one son are married. All of them were living separately from their father.
