Aadhar card has become one of the essential documents of Indian citizens. You will be surprised to know that the Employees Provident Fund Organization has now ended the recognition of Aadhaar card as birth proof. Aadhaar card has been removed from the list of date of birth proof documents in the Employees Provident Fund Organisation.

A circular in this regard has also been issued by the Employees Provident Fund Organization. Following the instructions of the Unique Identification Authority of India, a step has been taken by the Employees Provident Fund Organization to exclude Aadhaar from the list of valid documents.

Under this, now Aadhar card is not valid for updating date of birth during any work. Aadhaar card is primarily an identity verification tool and not a birth proof. It can be used to identify a person.
