This man from Myanmar secretly crossed the border from Bangladesh entered India and slowly mingled with the local people. He tried his hand at many businesses and also bought land and built his own house. His secret would have probably never been revealed, but one of his own friends exposed him.

The whole story came to light when four Rohingya people were arrested from the Dehu Road Cantonment area in Pune, Maharashtra in July this year. The arrested people included two men and their wives. When investigated, it was found that one of them, 43-year-old Muzammil Mohammad Amin Khan, has been living here for more than 10 years.

Maulvi's course and second marriage

Amin Khan not only built his house in Pune but also obtained passports and other Indian identities for himself and his wife. After this, a very shocking story came to light during interrogation with him. According to the Indian Express report, Amin Khan had done a Maulana course from an Islamic organization in Myanmar and lived there with his wife and two daughters.

Amin Khan moved to Bangladesh with his family around December 2012. While living in a refugee camp in Bangladesh, he looked for work but could not find any. One day he came to know that there are many job opportunities in West Bengal. Meanwhile, he left his current wife and married a Rohingya woman named Shafiqa, later he also had a son.

Get an Aadhaar card for Rs 500

In 2013, with the help of brokers, Amin Khan crossed the international border and entered West Bengal with his second wife and son. He went to Kolkata but could not find any decent work. He then came to Pune by train and got a job in a private company in Talegaon MIDC. The company also gave him a room to live in.

Now to increase his income, Amin Khan started buying children's clothes from Bhiwandi in Thane district and selling them on Dehu Road. Now he needed some documents related to identity in India. He tried and got an Aadhaar number from a shop in Bhiwandi for just Rs 500 without providing any documents. Police suspect that agents from Bhiwandi had submitted fake documents in his name at the Aadhaar enrolment centre.

Bought land without registration for 80 thousand

After getting his own Aadhar card made, Amin Khan also got his wife's Aadhar card made. During this time, he met a man named Kamalbhai in a mosque in Pune, who told him about the betel nut business. Now Amin Khan started selling betel nuts in local markets. When the business was established, Amin Khan started looking for his own house to live in.

During this time, he met a woman named Chandrabhaga Kamble on Dehu Road. Amin Khan bought Kamble's 600 square feet of land located next to her house in the Gandhi Nagar area of Dehu Road by paying her Rs 80,000 in cash. Both of them did not prepare any documents for this land deal. Amin Khan got possession of the land and in a short time, he built his house here.

How Amin Khan's secret was revealed

Without coming under the radar of any security agency or police, Amin Khan lived there with his family for almost a decade pretending to be an Indian citizen. During this time his wife gave birth to a daughter and she acquired an Indian passport. Amin Khan continued to sell betel nuts and no one suspected him.

However, his secrets were revealed in July 2024. In fact, the Pune unit of the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad arrested a Rohingya from Myanmar - 35-year-old Shahid alias Sohidul Sheikh from Dehu Road. Shahid has been living in India in hiding with his wife since 2015. During interrogation, he said that 'Mujammil Mamu', who also lives on Dehu Road, is also from Myanmar.

A big disclosure was also made regarding the land

After this, the police reached Amin Khan's house and arrested him. On July 27, the police registered a case against Amin Khan and his wife under sections of the Foreigners Act and the Passport Act. According to the FIR, the police have seized mobile phones, SIM cards, Aadhaar cards, PAN cards and Bangladeshi currency notes from these people. Also, the passports issued to them have also been seized.

At the same time, family members of Chandrabhaga Kamble, who sold her land to Amin Khan, said that they were not aware of her being a foreigner. Police said that Kamble had died a few years ago and the land is still in her name in government records. However, Amin Khan had got the electricity connection to this house in his name.
