Pintu Mahara Prayagraj: It is reported that boat owner Pintu Mahara has earned Rs 30 crore in just 45 days in Prayagraj Maha Kumbh. Now he will have to pay a huge tax on his income.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself told that this sailor had 130 boats and he earned an average of Rs 23 lakh daily. Now the question is how much tax will this sailor have to pay on this huge income. This income of the sailor is many times more than the annual salary of the CEO of a big company.

Pintu Mahara is the boatman who earned 30 crores by sailing a boat in Maha Kumbh. After earning a huge amount, he is now liable to pay income tax. However, taxable income is calculated by adjusting income and expenses. But, here we are telling you about the income tax applicable on the total income.

Since, income above 15 lakhs comes in the 30 percent tax slab. According to the income tax calculator available on the Income Tax Department's website, the tax liability of sailor Pintu Mahara on his income of 30 crores comes to around Rs 12,79,64,850 i.e. Rs 12 crore 80 lakh.

How much tax will have to be paid after deducting expenses,

the total amount of income tax is Rs 8,98,12,500, surcharge is Rs 3,32,30,625 and health and education cess is Rs 49,21,725. After adding these amounts, the total tax liability comes to around Rs 12 crore 80 lakh.

Since, the taxable income is calculated by deducting the expenses from the income. In this regard, if sailor Pintu Mahara declares his income as 20 crores after deducting the expenses, then his tax liability will be Rs 8.52 crore (8,52,20,850).

How Pintu Mahara earned 30 crores

Prayagraj's boatman Pintu Mahara built 70 boats for Maha Kumbh. For this Pintu took a loan from the bank and even mortgaged his jewellery. UP CM said that the boatman had 130 boats and he earned an average profit of 23 lakh rupees during this big event.

Pintu had a total of 130 boats for this special religious event. According to calculations, each boat earned Rs 23 lakh in 45 days, which is approximately Rs 50,000-52,000 per day. More than 300 people worked with Pintu.
