Depression or something else… why did IFS Jitendra commit suicide? His family lives in Dehradun.

An Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer committed suicide in Chanakyapuri, Delhi. According to Delhi Police, no suicide note was found at the spot. It is being said that the IFS officer was upset for the last few days. Did he really take this dreadful step due to depression or is there some other reason? His mother was present at home when he took this step.

But mother was in another room then. Jitendra committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of his government residence at 6 in the morning. As soon as the sound of Jitendra falling was heard, the people around were also shocked. They rushed to the spot. They saw that Jitendra was lying on the floor soaked in blood. He had died.

The police was immediately informed about this. The police took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. Jitendra's mother is crying inconsolably. Jitendra's wife and two sons live in Dehradun. They have also been informed. The police said - In the initial investigation, the case seems to be a suicide. But the case is being investigated from every angle. The family members are being questioned.

Police said- According to the information we have received, Jitendra was suffering from depression. He was undergoing treatment for the last 6 months. However, it is not yet clear what the depression was about. The doctor who was treating him will be questioned. However, the post-mortem report is also awaited. Jitendra's mobile has also been sent for investigation. No suicide note has been found from the spot. He was an IFS 2011 batch officer.

What is depression?

Depression is a problem that is gradually increasing its scope. This problem forces a person to commit suicide. It is a matter of concern that even today people avoid talking about this problem. If someone's mental health is deteriorating, then the symptoms are not easily known. What starts with worry, fear and nervousness becomes depression, which later causes many problems. According to the American Psychiatry Association, cases of depression are increasing worldwide in the last few years. The hectic life has made the situation worse.
