Defense Minister Rajnath Singh became Covid-19 positive!
On Monday (January 10), India's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh tested positive for COVID-19. The senior BJP leader and a high-ranking member of PM Modi's cabinet confirmed the news on Twitter, saying he had mild symptoms. Defense Minister Singh is currently in-home quarantine. He also urged all those who had come in contact with him recently to isolate and get tested for COVID-19.
The former Union Home Minister tweeted during PM Modi's first term, "I have tested positive for corona today with mild symptoms. I am in home quarantine. I request all those who came in contact with me recently should isolate themselves."
As per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry, India witnessed 1,79,723 fresh COVID-19 infections on Monday, taking the total to 3,57,07,727, with 27 states and union territories now Up to 4,033 cases of the Omicron version are included.
Meanwhile, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan today (January 10) in an official letter to all states and union territories said that 5-10% of active cases require hospitalization. However, the health secretary also said that "the situation is dynamic and evolving, the need for hospitalization may change rapidly." He advised all the states and union territories to keep a watch on the status of the total number of active cases.
