Madhya Pradesh ATS has arrested terrorist Faizan Sheikh from Khandwa. CM Mohan Yadav has congratulated the police on this success. During remand, Faizan said that he wanted to become like terrorist Abu Faizal. IG Dr. Ashish said that terrorist Faizan's intentions were very dangerous. Faizan's target was the security forces personnel. For this, his plan was to carry out a lone wolf attack i.e. a violent incident alone.

In a major action on Thursday morning, Madhya Pradesh ATS arrested terrorist Faizan Sheikh from Khandwa district who was associated with the banned organization - Indian Mujahideen (IM). Terrorist Faizan wanted to prove himself as a great Mujahid. He had also posted Jihadi posts on internet media. During remand, Faizan said that he wanted to become like terrorist Abu Faisal.

Terrorist Abu is a resident of Uttar Pradesh. He lived in Andheri West, Mumbai. The first case against him was registered in Indore. Apart from the murder of Khandwa posted ATS Jawan Sitaram Yadav in 2009, two cases of attempted murder, and six cases of robbery and dacoity in Bhopal, Dewas, and Mandsaur are registered against him. Apart from this, he is also an accused in the Ahmedabad bomb blast case.

Terrorist Abu Faisal, who is already serving a sentence in Bhopal Central Jail, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the NIA court in December 2023. This sentence has been given in the case of breaking the jail in 2013. In this, the terrorist and his companions attacked the policemen and looted their guns. Currently, he is serving his sentence in jail.

Madhya Pradesh ATS IG Dr. Ashish said that terrorist Faizan's intentions were very dangerous. He wanted to prove himself a great Mujahid like Indian Mujahideen's Yasin Bhatkal and SIMI gang leader Abu Faisal by carrying out a lone wolf attack. To execute his plan, he was collecting pistols and cartridges by contacting local illegal arms dealers and people from outside the state.

Pistols, cartridges, and a lot of Jihadi literature have been recovered from the terrorist. According to ATS, Faizan's target was the security personnel. For this, his plan was to carry out a lone wolf attack i.e. a violent incident alone. To carry out this, he was monitoring and doing recce of the security personnel and their families. The accused is being interrogated after taking police remand and ATS is also trying to find out about his other associates.

Apart from a pistol, five live cartridges, and four mobile phones, the ATS has also recovered Jihadi literature related to IM, ISIS, and other terrorist organizations and membership forms of SIMI organization from the terrorist.

Objectionable material found in mobile

Jihadi literature, videos, and photos of Indian Mujahideen, ISIS, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, etc. have been found in the mobile phones and digital devices recovered from the possession of the terrorist. The arrested terrorist was also in contact with members of the banned organization SIMI. A case has been registered against him under Sections 13(1)(B), 18, 20, and 38 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.

Propagation of terrorist ideology

Terrorist Faizan was propagating the ideology of IM and ISIS by posting Jihadi posts related to Indian Mujahideen on his Facebook ID. Through this, videos of Mujahideen training camps running in Pakistan, speeches of Masood Azhar (Jaish-e-Mohammed) Lashkar-e-Taiba, the story of the Kandahar plane hijacking, statements of Mullah Omar and posts related to Ansar Ghazwa-tul-Hind (AGH) were being circulated through internet media.

What did Faizan's brother say?

TV9 Bharatvarsh spoke to terrorist Faizan Sheikh's brother Mohammad Imran. Imran said- He used to post videos related to AK47 and other terrorists on WhatsApp. We explained it to him a lot but he did not understand. He even went to meet terrorist Raqib who is lodged in Kolkata jail.

Reacting to the arrest of Faizan Sheikh in Chhindwara's Amarwada, the state's Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said- This terrorist has been arrested due to the promptness and vigilance of the police. A lot of terrorist literature, objectionable material, a revolver, arms, and many other things were found with him. Apart from this, evidence of his contact with the terrorist organization ISI has also been found. We have informed the central investigation agencies. Soon they will also start their investigation. I congratulate the police for this promptness.
