The name of notorious gangster Bandu Andekar has come up in the murder of NCP leader and former councilor Vanraj Andekar in Pune. The suspected criminal who committed this crime is said to be Ganesh Komkar, son-in-law of Bandu Andekar alias Suryakant. This criminal first cut the light on seeing Vanraj Andekar present at the intersection in front of Doke Taleem in Nana Peth late on Sunday evening and then came there on a bike and fired 5 rounds at the former councilor.
Not satisfied with this, the accused stabbed him badly with an axe and then fled from the spot. Currently, Pune Police is investigating the matter based on CCTV footage and other facts related to the incident. According to the police, the names of 3 suspects who attacked Vanraj Andekar have come to light. One of them is Ganesh Komkar, son-in-law of notorious gangster Bandu Indekar. Two other criminals Somnath Sayaji Gaikwad and Tushar Aba Kadam are also active members of Bandu's gang.
The former councillor died during treatment
According to the police, the people nearby reached the spot after hearing the firing, but before that the accused had fled from the spot taking advantage of the darkness. In such a situation, the local people admitted the blood-soaked former councilor to a nearby hospital, where he died during treatment. According to the police, the Bandu Andekar gang has a lot of influence in Pune. This criminal is currently serving a life sentence in the case of murder of another gangster Pramod Malvadkar. According to the local people, Vanraj Andekar was elected as a corporator on the ticket of Nationalist Congress Party in the Pune Municipal Corporation elections held in the year 2017.
His mother Rajshree Andekar was elected councillor in 2007 and 2012. Let us tell you that assembly elections are to be held in Maharashtra this year.
