Corona risk increased : genome sequencing of 5934 samples was done, dangerous virus found in 15%

The threat of corona in the country is not over yet. For the last five days, the number of new patients has remained at 40 thousand times. At the same time, genome sequencing of 5934 samples has been done in India during a week, out of which 15 percent have found dangerous forms. Of these 15, 14.60 percent of forms are linked to Delta alone.

Recently, while releasing the weekly bulletin, INSACOG said that during a week 894 samples have been found in severe form. Of these, the delta in 868, delta plus in six, alpha in nine, beta in one, and kappa and delta one forms have been found in 10 samples. During the second wave, the nearly vanished alpha and beta forms have reappeared.


A senior official said that so far 78,865 samples have been sequenced in the country. Of these, severe forms of the virus have been found in 31124. So far 232 mutations of coronavirus have been found in the country and out of these 18 mutations have been kept in the severe category.

The number of people infected after the vaccine crossed three lakhs, a senior Health Ministry official said that the number of people infected after getting the vaccine in the country has exceeded three lakhs. More than 1.80 lakh people out of 3.25 lakh have been infected after taking the first dose.

A few months back, the government had also added a vaccination column in the RTPCR test form. According to the official, till now no patient has died due to infection after finishing vaccination in the country.
