The wait for a one-dose vaccine to protect against the coronavirus will soon end. This vaccine will be available in the country from next month. It has been learned that next week the first batch of vaccines will reach the Central Laboratory in Kasauli for testing.
This batch will be tested in two different laboratories located in Kasauli and Pune. This process can take about two weeks, after which the vaccine may be available for vaccination.
This single-dose vaccine has been developed by Johnson & Johnson Pharma Company. Recently, the company has received emergency use permission from the Government of India. Currently, the company has been allowed to import the vaccine, but under the agreement with Hyderabad-based pharma company Biologic E, its domestic production will also start in the coming days.
Permission will have to be taken again for domestic production
A senior official of the Drug Controller General of India said that Johnson & Johnson will have to get permission again for domestic production. A single dose of this vaccine is enough, and the first batch of this vaccine could come to India anytime within the next week. Told that recently the Pune-based lab has also been recognized for vaccine testing. This facility is available in three labs in the country.
Vaccination of children is not necessary to open school
NITI Aayog member Dr. VK Paul said that immunization of children is not necessary to open a school. This has not happened in any other country in the world. There is no condition for the children to open the school. It is necessary to vaccinate school staff instead of children.
