Continuous cases of deaths in police custody in Rajasthan are proof of poor law and order: Rajendra Rathore
In Rajasthan, Deputy Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathod has called the functioning of the police under suspicion in the case of the death of a youth in police custody in Kuchaman, Nagaur.
Rajendra Rathod tweeted in this regard that the frequent cases of deaths in police custody in Rajasthan are proof of poor law and order. After the death of Raju Nayak in police custody in Lohawat (Jodhpur) 15 days ago, the functioning of the police is now under suspicion in the case of the death of a youth in police custody in Kuchaman, Nagaur.
Cases of death in police custody have been reported in Rajasthan in several districts including Barmer, Pali, Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, and Tonk, raising a question mark on the law and order situation in the state. The responsibility of law and order lies with the police administration but the police itself is violating the law which is shameful.
The poor law and order situation of Rajasthan is also not hidden from anyone. The head of the police department himself is admitting that there has been a 17 percent increase in crime against women in the year 2021 as compared to the year 2020. At the same time, there has been an increase in SC/ST atrocities and cybercrime in Rajasthan.
