On Saturday itself, criminals opened fire on police personnel checking at a check post in Ambedkar Nagar. However, an unarmed constable present at the checkpost snatched the gun from the criminal by slapping him and caught two people. However, two other criminals escaped taking advantage of the darkness.

The police have arrested the miscreants and registered a case against all four of them. The police have also recovered a large quantity of beef from the accused. According to Ambedkar Nagar police, the police team was on patrol on Saturday night. During this time, when the input of the arrival of cow smugglers was received, the police set up a check post near Aminpur Balrampur Minor. Meanwhile, 4 cow smugglers arrived on two bikes. When the police tried to stop them, one of the miscreants opened fire on the police with a 12-bore gun.

According to the police, apart from about 32 kg of beef, a stolen bike, a gun, and a live cartridge have been recovered from the arrested criminals.

According to the police, the arrested miscreants have been identified as Dilshad Beg son of Mohammad Shah, and Arbaaz son of Mohammad Shah, residents of Alanpur. The miscreants who escaped from the spot have been identified as Salman son of Sajjad, resident of Aminpur, and Gudoon son of Mohammad Shah, resident of Alanpur. The police have registered a case against the four accused in this case under sections of the Animal Cruelty Act along with obstruction in government work.
