Jyoti Singh, CMO in-charge of the Maihar district of Madhya Pradesh, has been suspended on charges of corruption. It is alleged that major financial irregularities have come to light in Umaria during her tenure. After the revelation of serious allegations of corruption, the Commissioner of Shahdol Division suspended her on Wednesday. However, before the suspension action, the Commissioner issued a show cause notice to Jyoti Singh, but she did not respond to the notice.

The deeds of Jyoti Singh, the Chief Municipal Officer posted in Naurozabad under Umaria district, are not hidden from anyone. For a long time, she has been committing irregularities in construction works and purchase of materials. Due to this, the matter was investigated by the Collector Umaria on the instructions of Commissioner Shahdol. Widespread irregularities were found in the investigation.

After receiving the investigation report of the entire case, the Umaria collector issued a letter to the Chief Municipal Officer of Naurozabad, Jyoti Singh, and issued a show cause notice. She was directed to submit a reply within seven days, but CMO Jyoti Singh did not even reply to the show cause notice. Jyoti Singh's working style reflects her continuous disregard for the instructions of senior officials.
