He has given this information through social media. He tweeted and said that the minister told that at present there is a shortage of DAP in the whole country. China has also banned the export of DAP, which has aggravated the crisis. Mandaviya said that the Central Government is trying to make available the DAP as much as possible.
Ashok Gehlot has also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging the Central Government to make available a minimum of 2.50 lakh metric tonnes of DAP to Rajasthan by October 15, 2021, so that DAP is made available to the farmers of the state on time for sowing the crop. He also urged the Prime Minister to direct the Union Minister of Fertilizers and Chemicals in this regard.
Gehlot wrote in the letter that 4.50 lakh metric tonnes of DAP were approved for Rajasthan by the Government of India for Kharif-2021 (1 April to 30 September 2021), but according to the allocation received per month during this period, a total of 4.35 lakh metric tonnes of DAP were alloted. That is 15 thousand metric tonnes less than the accepted demand.
