Jaipur. Given the upcoming assembly by-elections in Rajasthan on November 13, a major campaign has been launched by the Election Commission and the state security forces. To ensure that the by-elections are conducted fairly, peacefully, and without any money power, various agencies are continuously taking action across the state. In the recent action, more than Rs 125 crore in cash and other illegal material has been recovered from 7 assembly constituencies of the state.

Election officer told the truth about black money

Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan said that since the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, the Election Department has formed several special teams to reduce the influence of money power. These teams have so far seized illegal items worth Rs 48.62 crore, which is three times more than the last assembly elections. In the last assembly elections, illegal material worth Rs 15.81 crore was seized, while this time this figure is 207 percent more.

Only intoxicating stuff worth crores was found

Police and other agencies have seized about Rs 4.77 crore in cash, illicit liquor worth Rs 6.46 crore, narcotics worth over Rs 1 crore, and precious metals like gold and silver worth Rs 1.2 crore in these by-election areas. The biggest seizure was made in Dausa district, where illicit items worth Rs 29.58 crore were seized. It was followed by Nagaur district, where material worth Rs 25.20 crore was seized.

There is a stir in Alwar and Tonk district

Alwar and Tonk districts have also been prominent in the seizure of illegal material. Due to this, the teams of the Election Department and the police are constantly active to prevent attempts to influence the electoral process. The purpose of these seizures is to thwart illegal attempts being made to lure voters. The Election Commission has also directed special monitoring to make these elections transparent and fair so that the electoral process is not affected by any external influence or money power.
