Jaipur: Giving priority to the safety of women and children, the Rajasthan government has started a new initiative called "Kalika Patrolling Unit". Escape from the police in the black jacket in Rajasthan
Rajasthan Additional Director General of Police Malini Agarwal said that in the initial phase, a total of 250 patrolling teams have been formed, and each team will have four women police personnel. The target is to increase their number to 500 teams in the future. 35 units will be deployed in the capital Jaipur, while 10 units each will work in other districts of the state.
Scooters and helmets will also be painted black
This special unit will work under the leadership of senior women police officers. Malini Agarwal said that the main objective of this initiative is to stop eveteasing and other crimes in public places. The uniform of the unit has been specially designed so that it can be easily identified. Their scooters and helmets will be black in colour, and the uniform will have a neon monogram on the back.
Finance Minister Diya Kumari had announced this
The patrolling unit will be linked with a special police control room and helpline number so that people can seek help immediately in case of any emergency. This initiative was announced during the budget session by state Finance Minister Diya Kumari in June this year. She called it an important step towards preventing crimes against women and children in the state. Along with this, the state government has also promised to strengthen the Nirbhaya special women squad and install CCTV cameras in public places. This step will prove helpful in ensuring a safe environment for women and children and will bring positive change to society.
