Ashok Gehlot wrote a letter to the Union Food Minister, made this request

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has written a letter to Union Food and Civil Supplies Minister Piyush Goyal urging him to start the procurement of paddy on support price at the earliest. With this farmers can get a fair price for their crops and they do not suffer financial loss.

CM Ashok Gehlot has written in the letter that during the year 2021-22, 2.62 lakh metric tonnes of paddy is estimated to be produced in Hanumangarh and Sri Ganganagar districts of the state. In such a situation, while allocating the target of purchasing 50 thousand metric tonnes of paddy on support price, all necessary arrangements including gunny should be made while appointing FCI as the purchasing agency.

Ashok Gehlot has written that the central government has set a policy target of doubling the income of farmers by the year 2022. The purchase of agricultural commodities at support prices directly affects the income of the farmers. This year, due to the non-starting of the procurement of paddy, the farmers who are facing the cost increase in cost are facing economic loss.
