Ashok Gehlot made this demand from the central government regarding the rising prices of petrol and diesel!
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has demanded from the Narendra Modi government at the Center to give relief to the common man by reducing various excise duties from petrol and diesel.
Ashok Gehlot tweeted on Wednesday that despite the price of crude oil reaching $100 per barrel during the UPA-II regime, the prices of petrol/diesel were under control. Now the rate of crude oil is going to increase continuously to $ 80 per barrel in a few days. If it continues to grow like this, then the back of the common man is sure to break.
He said that the Government of India should take immediate steps and give relief to the common man by reducing various excise duties. The Government of India has imposed various types of excise duty on petrol, diesel, in which the states do not even get a share. Today the price of one liter of diesel in Rajasthan is Rs.98.80, out of which the Government of India is taking Rs.31.80. The state's VAT is only Rs 21.78.
Because of the poor financial condition of the states after Kovid-19, the Government of India should give relief to the common man by reducing additional excise duty, special excise duty, agriculture cess.
