Seven armed miscreants raided the Tanishq Jewellery showroom located at Sheeshmahal Chowk on Monday morning and looted jewellery worth lakhs of rupees. According to police sources, the police have chased away the criminals in this case. During this, there was a shootout between the police and the miscreants. According to the information received, two criminals were shot in the encounter between the police and the criminals in the Diara area. After the incident, Shahabad DIG Satyaprakash and STF SP Pramod Kumar have reached Bhojpur. Where the gold recovered from the feet of the accused is being counted.

How did the robbery happen?

According to eyewitnesses, the criminals entered the showroom posing as customers at around 10:15 AM. In a short while, they held the salesman and the guard at gunpoint. When the salesman Rohit Kumar resisted, they beat him up, while the security guard Manoj Thakur posted at the gate was threatened and his licensed rifle was snatched away. After this, the miscreants looted both the floors for about 22 minutes.

After the incident, the criminals fled towards Chhapra

After the robbery, the criminals cleverly fled from the spot. According to police sources, the criminals have fled towards Chhapra. One of the six miscreants involved in this robbery was wearing a mask, while the rest of the criminals were without masks. As soon as the information of the incident was received, Bhojpur SP Raj, ASP Parichay Kumar and other senior police officers reached the spot and started investigation. 

Raids to arrest other accused

The two accused who were shot in this incident have been identified as Vishal Gupta, son of Bhuneshwar Prasad, resident of Dighwara, Saran and Kunal Kumar, son of Pradeep Rai, resident of Semra, Sonpur. The police have also recovered two pistols, 10 cartridges, jewellery looted from Tanishq showroom in two big bags and a Pulsar motorcycle from them. A team has been immediately formed and raids are being conducted to arrest other accused involved in this case.
