Instead of putting stitches on a serious injury of a 7-year-old child, a nurse sealed the wound with Feviquick. In the video, the nurse is seen admitting her mistake that she had used Feviquick.

A shocking incident has come to light at Adoor Primary Health Center in Haveri district of Karnataka, in which a nurse instead of stitching the serious injury of a 7-year-old child, sealed the wound with Feviquick. This incident happened on January 14, but it was revealed later.

The child injured in the incident, Gurukishan Annappa Hosamani, had sustained a severe injury while playing and was bleeding from his face. However, instead of getting the child proper medical treatment, nurse Jyoti applied Feviquick to his injury. This glue is used for sticking, which can have a sharp effect on the skin, but it is not meant for treating wounds.

When the nurse was asked about this unusual decision, she said that she understood that if the wound was stitched, it would leave a permanent scar on the child's face. She also said, "I thought it would be better to apply Feviquick, and if that doesn't work, we will send him for further treatment."

The child's parents were concerned about the treatment and recorded a video of the nurse's response and lodged an official complaint with the Health Protection Committee of Adoor Primary Health Centre. In the video, the nurse is seen admitting her mistake that she had used Feviquick.

Following the complaint, District Health Officer (DHO) Rajesh Surgihalli took immediate action. Though the nurse had clearly been negligent, the DHO decided to redeploy her to the Guththal Health Institute in Haveri taluk instead of suspending her.
