After not getting a visa, the BJP leader's son married a Pakistani woman online and watched viral video
A unique cross-border marriage ceremony took place in this Uttar Pradesh district when the son of a BJP leader married a Pakistani girl through online "nikah".
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) councilor Tehseen Shahid had fixed the marriage of his elder son Mohammad Abbas Haider with Andleep Zahra, a resident of Lahore. Despite applying for a visa, the groom was unable to obtain it due to the ongoing political tensions between the two neighboring countries.
The situation became even more challenging when the bride's mother Rana Yasmin Zaidi fell ill and was admitted to the ICU in Pakistan. In view of these circumstances, Shahid decided to hold the wedding ceremony online.

On Friday night, Shahid gathered with the "baraatis" at an imambara and participated in the online "nikah". The bride's family from Lahore attended the ceremony.
Shia cleric Maulana Mahfuzul Hasan Khan said that in Islam, the consent of the woman is necessary for "nikah" and she informs the maulana about it. He said that online nikah is possible only when the maulanas of both sides can get together and perform the ceremony.
Haider expressed hope that his wife would get an Indian visa without any hassle.
BJP MLC Brijesh Singh Prishu and other guests attended the wedding ceremony and congratulated the groom's family.
