UP ATS, Lucknow, and Moradabad police have arrested a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist who was absconding for 18 years from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh. A reward of Rs 25,000 was declared on the arrested terrorist Ulfat alias Saifullah. He is a resident of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorist Ulfat has been involved in anti-national activities. He absconded after being arrested in 2001. He was arrested on Friday by the ATS Saharanpur unit and Moradabad police.

 

In 2001, Moradabad police arrested terrorist Ulfat and recovered a huge amount of weapons and explosives from him. AK-47, AK-56 rifle, 2 pistols (30 bores), 12 hand grenades, 39 timers, 50 detonators, 37 batteries, 29 kg explosive material, 560 live cartridges, and 08 magazines were recovered from him. There was a stir in the police department due to the recovery of such a huge amount of weapons.

The police had announced a reward of Rs 25,000

The court had issued a warrant against terrorist Ulfat. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate-14 of Moradabad issued a permanent warrant in 2015 and 2025. Moradabad police had also announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for this. Investigation revealed that Ulfat had been an active member of Hizbul Mujahideen. He had taken terrorist training in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) in 1999-2000 and then came to Moradabad and was planning to carry out a major terrorist incident.

The interrogation of the arrested terrorist is going on. Security agencies are investigating whether he was associated with any new terrorist module or was preparing for a big conspiracy. He will soon be produced in the court and further action will be taken. According to the police, terrorist Ulfat uses many names. He also has the names of Saiful, Afzal, Parvez, and Malik. He is a resident of village Fazalabad, police station Surankot district Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. Police is interrogating him.
