A woman gave birth to a child on Air India's AI-150 flight. The woman was coming to Kochi from London, the UK with 200 passengers. The doctors and nurses on the plane immediately helped the woman and gave birth to the child.

The woman needed medical care, so the plane was diverted to Frankfurt. The woman and child have been admitted to a hospital in Frankfurt. Later the plane left for Cochin.

An Air India spokesperson said the newborn is in good health. Air India will bring the mother, newborn and other passengers from Frankfurt to Cochin later. There were more than 210 people on board the plane.
