Jaipur: The Customs department exposed a case of gold smuggling by taking a big action at Jaipur International Airport on Tuesday afternoon. Customs officials stopped a passenger based on suspicion and upon searching him, recovered 3 kg 500 grams of gold from his undergarments. This gold was hidden in the form of paste so that it could not be caught in the security check. When the officials conducted a thorough search, the accused's entire plan failed. The estimated market price of the recovered gold is said to be around Rs 2 crore.

Where did he bring the gold from and where was he taking it?

The officials are questioning him about where he brought the gold from and what was its destination. Initial investigations have raised suspicion that more people may be involved in this smuggling network. Customs officials say that this case points towards a big organised smuggling racket and investigations are on to get to the bottom of it.
