Thane Police Officer of Maharashtra said that a 42-year-old man from Dombivali under Vishnunagar Police Station has been sexually abusing his 6-year-old daughter since June when she was alone at home. He used to threaten the girl so much that the girl was not able to tell this to her mother or anyone else due to fear.

On finding out, the wife herself filed an FIR

On Saturday, when the accused's wife and the girl's mother came to know about this, they were shocked. After hours, she first composed herself and then went to the police station. There she lodged a written complaint with the police about her husband's disgusting act. After the investigation, the police registered a case against the girl's accused father under the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) based on the girl's mother's complaint. After that, the investigation was started. Police say that the girl has been sent for a medical checkup. Further action will be taken after the investigation report comes and the investigation is completed. As per the Supreme Court's instructions on cases related to sexual harassment, the victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy.
