Girl kidnapped the 17 year old girl

A 17-year-old victim lived with her grandmother in south Mumbai. On January 7, she left home to go to college but then sent a message to her mother saying she had left home on her own and the family need not worry. After this, her phone was switched off and the family searched for her everywhere but could not find any clue. Eventually, the family complained to the police.

Police action

The police started searching for the girl using technical information. During the investigation, the call details of the suspected woman were also obtained. The police found that the accused woman had called a hotel in Virar a few days ago. When the police reached that hotel, the girl was not found there, but on questioning the hotel staff, it was found that two girls had come there.

Both were found in the resort

Police suspected that the accused woman had bought a new SIM card. After this, the police questioned the SIM card sellers and traced the phone number of the accused woman. Based on this number, the police reached a resort in Virar, where they found both the girls. Both introduced themselves as sisters and said that they had come to take the exam.

Interrogation and arrest

When the police interrogated the two, they said that they loved each other. However since the victim was a minor, the police registered a case against the accused woman under various sections including the POCSO Act. She was taken into custody and later sent to Byculla jail. The police tried to hand over the victim to her family, but she refused to go home. So she was sent to a juvenile home. The bail plea of the accused woman in this case will be heard tomorrow.
