Every death in a road accident is disturbing. The untimely death of more than 10 thousand people every year in road accidents in the state is a matter of concern. In such a situation, saving the life of every person and preventing road accidents is the main priority of the state government.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said this while addressing a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister's residence on Tuesday to reduce road accidents and prevent loss of lives. Ashok Gehlot directed that strict action should be taken on overspeeding, overloading, drunken driving, etc., using modern techniques and innovations made in other states to prevent road accidents.
Along with this, there should be an effective ban on the sale of substandard helmets. He said that a driving license should be issued only after a thorough examination. Gehlot said that a team of experts should be formed to prevent road accidents and initiatives should be taken to make vehicle movement safe on national highways. People should be made aware to follow the rules.
