Rajasthan: Gehlot government has decided to cut electricity for one to three hours, industrial consumers should also get these instructions
In view of the power crisis, the Ashok Gehlot government of Rajasthan has decided to cut power in the state. This decision has been taken during a meeting held under the chairmanship of Energy Minister Bhanwar Singh Bhati at Vidyut Bhawan here on Wednesday to review the demand and availability of electricity in the state.
Under this, it has been decided to cut electricity for one hour at divisional headquarters, two hours at district headquarters, 3 hours in municipal areas and towns having population of more than 5000. The deduction will be done from 7 am to 8 am at Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer divisional headquarters and from 8 am to 9 am at Kota, Bharatpur, Bikaner and Udaipur divisional headquarters.
Similarly, power cut time has been fixed from 6.30 am to 8.30 am at district headquarters and from 6 am to 9 am in municipal areas and towns having population of more than 5000. As far as possible all agricultural supply blocks operating in the morning (6 am to 12 pm) will be shifted to night.
The timing of Agriculture Supply Block will be reduced from 6 hours to 5 hours. All industrial consumers were instructed to limit their electricity consumption to 50 percent from 6 pm to 10 pm. Where deduction is proposed to be made, the same shall be given to all consumers in advance as far as possible. However, it has been decided to keep essential services like hospitals, oxygen centres, drinking water supply and military installations completely free from power cuts.
