Raisina Dialogue: President of European Commission will visit India, will meet PM Modi and President Kovind
European Commission President Ursala von der Lane will be on an official visit to India. She will visit India on a two-day visit on April 24 and 25. The Ministry of External Affairs gave this information on Tuesday. The ministry said that during her visit she will hold bilateral talks with PM Narendra Modi. She will also meet President Ram Nath Kovind and other dignitaries. The Ministry of External Affairs said that he has been invited as the chief guest for this year's edition of the Raisina Dialogue. She will address the inaugural session on April 25. The visit of the President of the European Commission will be an opportunity to review progress and further intensify the multi-faceted partnership with the European Union.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that India and the European Union share a strategic partnership. The partnership between the two is witnessing strong growth with broad and deep cooperation in political and strategic, trade and commerce, climate and sustainability, digital and technology aspects as well as people-to-people relations.
Raisina Dialogue started in 2016
Raisina Dialogue was started in the year 2016. The Raisina Dialogue is an annual conference in which geo-political and geo-economic issues are discussed. It is jointly organized by the Ministry of External Affairs of India and Observer Research Foundation (ORF). Foreign, defense and finance ministers of various countries are included in Raisina. The main objective of the Raisina Dialogue is to explore possibilities and opportunities for Asian integration as well as for better coordination of Asia with the rest of the world. The Raisina Dialogue is a multilateral conference committed to addressing the challenging issues facing the global community.
