Has anyone taken a loan using your Pan Card? Click here to know
Cybercriminals have discovered a new way of duping innocent people/consumers. They take a loan in one's name using PAN (Permanent Account Number) card and Aadhar card. This is becoming possible because some lending companies give small loans only on the basis of PAN card or mobile number.
There have been many cases in which PAN card holders have come to know that loans have been given on their PAN to an unknown person without their consent. The CIBIL score of the victims is being badly affected by this PAN card loan fraud.
The first step to avoid such PAN card fraud by such cyber criminals is that one should not share one's PAN or Aadhaar number with unknown persons. Also, they should be cautious while sharing their PAN or Aadhaar number in places where they can be misused. The purpose of sharing a photocopy of one's PAN card or Aadhar card has to be put in writing so that there is no possibility of misuse of PAN or Aadhaar number.
In addition, PAN cardholders must regularly check their CIBIL score and loan details. This can be done online by logging into the services of any of the credit bureaus like CIBIL, Equifax, Experian or CRIF High Mark.
Some fintech apps like Paytm and Policybazaar provide users with instant loan details on PAN number with CIBIL score.
