Haryana Panchayat Election: Voting continues in 4 districts, voting for 559 Committee-78 Zilla Parishad


In the third and final phase of the Panchayat elections in Haryana, voting began on Tuesday morning for the election of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members in four districts. Polling in Faridabad, Palwal, Hisar, and Fatehabad began at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm. Voting is being held for the election of 559 members of Panchayat Samiti and 78 members of Zilla Parishad in 25 manuals of these four districts. More than 22 lakh voters are eligible to vote in these elections, including more than 10 lakh women.

Under the third and final phase, on November 25, voting will be held for the election of sarpanches and panches of gram panchayats of these four districts. In the first two phases, elections have been held for Panch, Sarpanch, Panchayat Samiti members and Zilla Parishad members in 18 districts. The results of the election of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members will be announced on November 27, while the results of the election of panches and sarpanches are announced on the day of polling itself.

On November 12, voting was held in the second phase of Panchayat elections in nine districts. Elections were held for the posts of 2,683 sarpanchs and 25,655 panchs in 57 blocks of Ambala, Charkhi Dadri, Gurugram, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Rewari, Rohtak, Sirsa and Sonipat districts.
