Chhattisgarh government started the purchase of cow urine at the rate of Rs 4 per liter under Godhan Nyay Yojana, know about the main scheme
On the occasion of Hareli, a local festival of Chhattisgarh, the Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress started procuring cow urine at a minimum rate of Rs 4 per liter. This initiative has been launched under the flagship 'Godhan Nyay Yojana'.
Officials said on Monday- Godhan Nyay Yojana, which also includes the procurement of cow dung, was launched two years ago with an aim to provide income to livestock farmers, and organic farmers and strengthen the rural economy.
“In the first phase, cow urine will be procured in two independent Gauthans (livestock shelters) of each district. The Gauthan Management Committee will be entitled to fix the rates of cow urine at the local level. However, the Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare Department have imposed a minimum rate of Rs. rate is offered.
