Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has demanded the central government declare lumpy skin disease as a national disaster. He has tweeted in this regard. He tweeted that all possible efforts are being made by the state government to control the lumpy skin disease infection. The central government should declare lumpy skin disease as a national calamity so that better management can be done to prevent the infection of cows.
Work is being done by the state government on a war footing for effective prevention and control of lumpy skin disease in cattle. Now on the instructions, a four-member committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the concerned district collector for effective monitoring in all the districts.
For ensuring timely treatment of sick animals and other actions, the rate fixation, etc. will be done by the committee at the district level. Along with this, this committee will ensure the availability of essential medicines for disease control and prevention at the district level, scientific disposal of dead animals, preparation of medicines kits and fixing their rates, regular cleaning of gaushalas and animal houses, and providing medical facilities to sick animals.
We Will ensure isolation from healthy animals, getting treatment from veterinarians, etc. Apart from this, this committee will also ensure necessary publicity work through Urban Autonomous/Panchayat Raj Institutions to remove the misconceptions prevailing among the livestock owners and the general public regarding lumpy skin disease.
